The AP reports: Jalen Brunson had 31 points and made two clutch free throws with 8.6 seconds left, and the New York Knicks held on to beat the shorthanded Charlotte Hornets 99-98 to improve to 3-0 in NBA Cup play on Friday.
Karl-Anthony Towns added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, who entered the game 23 points behind the Orlando Magic in point differential in Group A and in need of a blowout win. The Magic are 2-0 in group play and visit Brooklyn on Friday night.
De'Andre Hunter scores 23 points as the Hawks beat the NBA-best Cavs again, 117-101
The AP reports: De'Andre Hunter scored 23 points off Atlanta's bench and the Hawks beat Cleveland 117-101 on Friday in the NBA Cup, handing the Cavaliers a loss for the second time in three days.
The Cavaliers (17-3) still boast the NBA's best record but they once again couldn't match the Hawks' scoring depth. Trae Young had 21 points and 11 assists, and Jalen Johnson added 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as Atlanta finished with six scorers in double figures.
Grizzlies beat Pelicans 120-109 for 1st NBA Cup win in franchise history
The AP reports: Ja Morant had 27 points and seven assists as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the injury-riddled New Orleans Pelicans 120-109 on Friday evening for their first NBA Cup win in franchise history.
Jaren Jackson Jr. had 23 points and eight rebounds for Memphis, while Santi Aldama added 20 points and went 8 of 9 from the field.
CJ McCollum led the Pelicans with 30 points, and Dejounte Murray and Trey Murphy added 21 points apiece.
Timberwolves stop 4-game losing streak by fending off Clippers 93-92 in NBA Cup play
The AP reports: Anthony Edwards scored 21 points on 7-for-21 shooting to help the Minnesota Timberwolves stop a four-game losing streak by holding off the Los Angeles Clippers 93-92 in an NBA Cup game Friday night.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Julius Randle added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who overcame 22 turnovers and another blown double-digit lead.
Franz Wagner's 29 points propel Magic to 123-100 NBA Cup win over Nets
The AP reports: Franz Wagner scored 29 points, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 19 and the Orlando Magic eased to a 123-100 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night in an NBA Cup game.
Jalen Suggs and Wendell Carter Jr. each had 12 points for the Magic, who improved to 3-0 in Group A play and moved into a tie with New York. Orlando plays the Knicks, who are also 3-0 in the East's Group A, in an NBA Cup game on Tuesday with the winner advancing as group champion.
Tatum scores 35, Pritchard adds 29 off the bench and Celtics outlast Bulls 138-129
The AP reports: Jayson Tatum scored 35 points and had 14 rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics past the Chicago Bulls 138-129 in Friday night’s NBA Cup pool game.
Reserve Payton Pritchard added a season-best 29 points, including 11 straight during a fourth-quarter run that gave the Celtics the lead for good.
Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 32 points and had 11 rebounds for Chicago, which could have secured a spot in the Cup quarterfinals with a victory. Atlanta, which defeated Cleveland earlier in the day, secured the Group C berth and will advance to the knockout round.
Cade Cunningham has 24 points, 11 rebounds in return and Pistons beat Pacers 130-106
The AP reports: Cade Cunningham had 24 points and 11 rebounds in his return from a three-game absence, Jaden Ivey added 23 points and the Detroit Pistons beat the Indiana Pacers 130-106 on Friday night.
Cunningham hit four of Detroit's 18 3-pointers as the Pistons improved to 3-0 in NBA Cup play. Malik Beasley added 22 points for Detroit, which moved into a first-place tie with Milwaukee in East Group B.
Butler scores 26, Herro adds 23 and Adebayo has triple-double as Miami tops Toronto 121-111
The AP reports: Jimmy Butler scored 26 points, Tyler Herro added 23 and the Miami Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 121-111 on Friday night.
The Heat were 21 of 54 on 3-pointers in the game, the third-most attempts from beyond the arc in franchise history. Miami has taken 56 in a game twice.
Bam Adebayo had a triple-double for Miami - 14 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds, the last of those boards coming after Butler airballed a jumper in the final seconds.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 36 points as Thunder defeat Lakers 101-93 in NBA Cup game
The AP reports: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 36 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, and the Oklahoma City Thunder held on for a 101-93 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in an NBA Cup game on Friday night.
It is the fifth time in the past six games Gilgeous-Alexander has scored at least 30 points. Jalen Williams added 19 points as the Thunder won their fourth straight.
Trail Blazers beat Kings 115-106 to stay alive in NBA Cup
The AP reports: Deandre Ayton had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 115-106 victory over the Sacramento Kings in an NBA Cup game on Friday night.
Anfernee Simons added 21 points and nine assists and Deni Avdija had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Blazers. Dalano Banton scored 17 off the bench and also had a career-high five steals.
Malik Monk led the Kings with 29 points off the bench. De’Aaron Fox added 22 points and Domantas Sabonis had 21.

Trae Young's 22 assists help Hawks stun Cavaliers 135-124, only Cleveland's 2nd loss this season
The AP reports: Trae Young had a career-high 22 assists - the most in the NBA this season - and scored 20 points as the Atlanta Hawks handed Cleveland just its second loss this season, beating the Cavaliers 135-124 on Thursday night.
The Cavs fell to 17-2 and lost for the first time in 11 home games.
De'Andre Hunter added 26 points and Jalen Johnson 22 for the Hawks, who made all the big plays down the stretch to stun the Cavs.
Jalen Suggs scores 31 points and the Orlando Magic beat the Chicago Bulls 133-119
The AP reports: Jalen Suggs scored a career-high 31 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored a season-high 24 on 6-for-10 shooting from 3-point range to help the Orlando Magic beat the Chicago Bulls 133-119 on Wednesday night.
Ayo Dosunmu led the Bulls with 21 points and Nikola Vucevic added 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The Magic raced out to an early lead and led by 13 after the first quarter and by as many as 27 points on the way to their fourth straight win and 10th in their last 11 games.
Jalen Green's 41 points lead Rockets to 122-115 overtime win over 76ers
The AP reports: Jalen Green scored a season-high 41 points, Alperen Sengun added 22 points and 14 rebounds and the Houston Rockets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 122-115 in overtime on Wednesday night.
Tyrese Maxey scored 39 points, including 28 in the second half, in the loss for Philadelphia, which played without Paul George and Joel Embiid and fell to 3-14. Maxey, who tied the game with three free throws with just over 11 seconds left, was held scoreless in overtime.
Harden scores 43 as Clippers rout skidding Wizards 121-96
The AP reports: James Harden scored a season-high 43 points in 32 minutes to help the Los Angeles Clippers romp to a 121-96 victory over Washington on Wednesday night, handing the struggling Wizards their 13th consecutive defeat.
Harden hit seven 3-pointers, had 23 points in the first quarter and eclipsed his previous season high of 29 by halftime. The 10-time All-Star posted his highest point total since scoring 44 at Detroit on March 26, 2021, despite exiting the game at the end of the third.
Tyler Herro scores 27 points as the Heat hold off a late comeback try by the Hornets
The AP reports: Tyler Herro scored 27 points, Duncan Robinson added 22 points with six 3-pointers and the Miami Heat held on to defeat the Charlotte Hornets 98-94 on Wednesday night.
Bam Adebayo had 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Heat, who bounced back from a 106-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in an NBA Cup game on Tuesday night.
LaMelo Ball had 32 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who have lost five of their last six. Brandon Miller had 21 points and rookie Tidjane Salaun scored a career-high 17 points.
Pacers' trio leads Indiana to 3rd straight win with 121-114 victory over Trail Blazers
The AP reports: Pascal Siakam matched a season high with 29 points, Tyrese Haliburton had 28 and 10 assists and the Indiana Pacers overcame a sluggish first half to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 121-114 on Wednesday night.
Bennedict Mathurin added 24 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana.
The Pacers led by 11 entering the final quarter and fended off a Trail Blazers rally as Haliburton scored 12 points and Siakam nine down the stretch for their third consecutive victory.
Irving scores 23 as Mavs beat Knicks 129-114, improve to 4-1 without Doncic
The AP reports: Kyrie Irving scored 23 points and the Dallas Mavericks improved to 4-1 this season without superstar Luka Doncic, beating the New York Knicks 129-114 on Wednesday night.
Jalen Brunson tied his season high with 37 points for New York in his second game in Dallas against his former team. Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points and 14 rebounds, but OG Anunoby was limited to eight points on 3-of-15 shooting two nights after getting a career-high 40.
Doncic missed his fourth consecutive game with a sprained right wrist, and the defending Western Conference champions were without two other starters in Klay Thompson (plantar fascia) and Daniel Gafford (illness).
Smart scores 25, leads Grizzlies to 131-111 win over Pistons
The AP reports: Marcus Smart scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 131-111 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
Smart was 8 of 12 from the field, including 7 of 11 from outside the arc. Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jake LaRavia finished with 19 points apiece, Pippen adding seven rebounds while hitting 9 of 12 shots as Memphis won its fourth straight. LaRavia missed only one of his nine shots.
Marcus Sasser led the Pistons with 22 points, while Simone Fontecchio had 18. Jaden Ivey finished with 17 points.
Monk and Fox take over late to lead the Kings past the Timberwolves 115-104
The AP reports: Malik Monk had 27 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, De'Aaron Fox added 26 points, eight assists and eight rebounds, and the Sacramento Kings rode a gritty performance underneath both baskets to a 115-104 victory against the scuffling Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
Monk and Fox combined to outscore the Timberwolves 17-2 over the final five minutes. Domantas Sabonis had 27 points and 12 rebounds as Sacramento snapped a four-game losing streak.
Agbaji and Battle rain down 3s as the Raptors beat the hapless Pelicans 119-93
The AP reports: Ochai Agbaji and Jamison Battle each scored 24 points, and the Toronto Raptors won on the road for the first time this season, 119-93 over the hapless New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night.
Djounte Murray returned from a fractured left hand that sidelined him for 17 games and looked rusty early. He finished with 14 points, but missed all seven of his first-half shots and shot 5 of 17 overall as the Pelicans lost their sixth straight game and 15th out of 17.
CJ McCollum scored 19 points in his second game since returning from an adductor strain and missing 13 contests.
Davis and James power the Lakers past Wembanyama and the Spurs 119-101
The AP reports: Anthony Davis had 19 points and 14 rebounds, LeBron James finished with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs 119-101 on Wednesday night.
Rookie Dalton Knecht had 20 pointson 4-for-10 shooting from long distance as the Lakers snapped a three-game skid.
Victor Wembanyama had 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Spurs had their four-game winning streak ended. Harrison Barnes added 19 points and Julian Champagnie scored 18.
Tyrese Martin scores a career-high 30 points, leading the Nets past the Suns 127-117
The AP reports: Tyrese Martin scored a career-high 30 points, Dennis Schroder added 29 and the injury-depleted Brooklyn Nets beat the Phoenix Suns 127-117 on Wednesday night.
The Nets have won four of their last five games. The Suns have lost seven of nine.
Martin shot 10 of 13 from the field, including 8 for 10 from 3-point range, in his best NBA performance by a wide margin. He had scored just 33 points in 21 career games before Wednesday.
Jokic leads the Nuggets to a 122-103 win over the Jazz
The AP reports: Nikola Jokic had 30 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 122-103 victory over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
Jokic scored 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting in the first quarter alone to rally Denver from an early 12-point deficit.
Jamal Murray added 22 points, eight assists and four steals for the Nuggets. Michael Porter Jr. had 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Christian Braun finished with 18 points and seven boards.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 35 as Thunder hold off Warriors without Stephen Curry, 105-101
The AP reports: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points, Jalen Williams exited late in the first half with a right eye injury and the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Curry-less Golden State Warriors 105-101 on Wednesday night.
Andrew Wiggins made it a one-point game on a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left. After Gilgeous-Alexander missed a free throw at the other end, Wiggins was blocked by Luguentz Dort on a game-tying layup.
Gilgeous-Alexander followed up his 37-point performance from Monday’s 130-109 victory at Sacramento by shooting 13 for 28 in the third straight win by Oklahoma City (14-4).

Kyle Kuzma scored 23 points for Washington, which lost its 12th straight and fell to 0-3 in the group and were eliminated from quarterfinal contention.
Lillard scores 37 points and Giannis-less Bucks hold off Heat 106-103 to move to 3-0 in Cup play
The AP reports: Damian Lillard scored 37 points and handed out 12 assists, and the Milwaukee Bucks wasted a 22-point second-half lead before beating the Miami Heat 106-103 in an NBA Cup game on Tuesday night.
Brook Lopez scored 13 points and Bobby Portis had 11 for the Bucks, who have won five in a row and moved back to the .500 mark - 9-9 - for the first time since they were 1-1... Jimmy Butler scored 23 points for Miami, which got 18 from Tyler Herro, 17 from Terry Rozier and 16 from Bam Adebayo.

The 7-foot-3 Wembanyama made six 3-pointers and shot 13 of 23 from the field. Julian Champagnie scored 15 points and made three 3s in the fourth quarter to help the Spurs pull away.
Utah's Lauri Markkanen had to be helped from the court after banging knees with Wembanyama in the fourth quarter.
Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant both return from injury, lead the Suns past the Lakers 127-100
The AP reports: Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant each scored 23 points and the Phoenix Suns celebrated the healthy return of both players with a 127-100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Devin Booker led the way with 26 points and had 10 assists as the Suns snapped a five-game losing streak... The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis, who scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

The AP reports: Tyrese Haliburton finished with 34 points and 13 assists and made a season best nine 3-pointers on Monday night, leading the Indiana Pacers past the short-handed New Orleans Pelicans 114-100.
Haliburton's tiebreaking 3 with 3:06 to go and Bennedict Mathurin's alley-oop dunk off Haliburton's pass with a minute left finally secured the win.
Myles Turner added 17 points, including seven straight during a fourth-quarter flurry that swung the momentum back to the Pacers.
Franz Wagner helps Magic overcome 44 points by LaMelo Ball to beat Hornets 95-84
The AP reports: Franz Wagner scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, and the Orlando Magic withstood a 44-point performance by the Hornets' LaMelo Ball to beat short-handed Charlotte 95-84 on Monday night.
Moritz Wagner and Cole Anthony each had 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench, and Jonathan Isaac knocked down three fourth-quarter corner 3s to finish with 11 points for the Magic.
Ball, coming off a career-high 50-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night, also had nine rebounds and seven assists. Brandon Miller added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who had their four-game home win streak snapped.
Ivey hits buzzer-beating jumper to give Pistons 102-100 win over Raptors
The AP reports: Jaden Ivey hit a jumper as time expired to give the Detroit Pistons a 102-100 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night.
The Raptors took a 98-96 lead on RJ Barrett's 3-pointer with 1:47 left, but Ivey's driving layup tied it with 1:07 to go.
After both teams missed, Isaiah Stewart got free for a go-ahead dunk, but Scottie Barnes hit a layup in traffic to make it 100-100 with 22.3 seconds to play.
Kyrie Irving's big second half leads Mavericks past Hawks 129-119
The AP reports: Kyrie Irving had 32 points, six assists and seven rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Atlanta Hawks 129-119 on Monday night without star Luka Doncic.
Jaden Hardy had a season-high 23 points in his first start of the season for Dallas, which has won five of six. Naji Marshall and Spencer Dinwiddie had 22 points each.
Irving had 10 points at halftime after being stifled by Hawks guard Dyson Daniels but heated up in the second half, including a stretch where he hit five consecutive field goals.
Kristaps Porzingis scores 16 in season debut, Celtics hit 22 3-pointers in 126-94 win over Clippers

Payton Pritchard added with 20 points for Boston, which extended its season-high win streak to six games.
Kristaps Porzingis finished with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting, to go along with six rebounds and two blocks in his season debut following offseason ankle surgery. He made the start and played 23 minutes with Al Horford (illness) and Luke Kornet (hamstring) out.

Morant shot 6 fo 12 from the field, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 21 points, and Santi Aldama finished with 13 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.
Deni Avdija led Portland with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Shaedon Sharpe added 15 points for the Trail Blazers, who lost for the third time in four games.
Anunoby scores career-high 40 points, Knicks dish out 45 assists in a 145-118 blowout of Nuggets
The AP reports: OG Anunoby scored a career-high 40 points, Jalen Brunson had 17 of New York's team record-tying 45 assists and the Knicks rode a torrid start to a 145-118 rout of the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.
Brunson had 23 points to go with his career-best assist performance. The Knicks' 45 assists matched the single-game team record set against Cleveland on Nov. 24, 1979.
New York led by 12 after the first, 23 at halftime and by many as 30 points on a night the team shot a sizzling 60.9% from the floor. The starters for the Knicks played late in the game despite the large lead.
Dennis Schroder leads short-handed Nets back from 18-point deficit to beat Warriors 128-120
The AP reports: Dennis Schroder scored 31 points, Cam Thomas added 23 and the undermanned Brooklyn Nets rallied to beat Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors 128-120 on Monday night.
Curry made a 3-pointer with 3:26 left and pulled the Warriors within three, but Golden State couldn't make the crucial stops and squandered an 18-point lead. Curry scored 28, and Andrew Wiggins added 18 points.
Schroder's 3 with 11:10 remaining tied the game at 92, and he put his team ahead with another at the 9:43 mark.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 37 and Thunder bench scores 40 in OKC's 130-109 rout of Kings
The AP reports: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 37 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s bench players combined for 40 points in a 130-109 win over Sacramento on Monday night that extended the Kings' losing streak to four.
Jalen Williams scored 28 points and Isaiah Hartenstein returned from a stint on the injured list with 17 points for the Thunder.
DeMar DeRozan scored 19 points in the first half and finished the game with 30 for the Kings. The Kings bench scored half of what the Thunder's bench did, and Sacramento shot just 25% from 3-point range.

Pacers end 3-game skid, extend Wizards losing streak to 11 with 115-103 victory

The AP reports: James Harden had 23 points and eight assists, Ivica Zubac had 16 points and 12 rebounds and the Los Angeles Clippers coasted to a 125-99 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night.

The AP reports: Cade Cunningham had 21 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead the Detroit Pistons over the Washington Wizards 124-104 on Sunday night.
Jaden Ivey scored 28 points and Malik Beasley added 26 for Detroit. Cunningham has four triple-doubles this season, two behind league leader Nikola Jokic.
It was the eighth straight loss for Washington, which was home after a five-game trip. Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points apiece for the Wizards.
Towns returns with 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Knicks past the Nets 114-104
The AP reports: Karl-Anthony Towns returned from a one-game absence with 26 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, and the New York Knicks completed a two-game weekend sweep of the Brooklyn Nets with a 114-104 victory on Sunday night.
OG Anunoby had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks, who were without Towns because of a bruised left knee when they beat the Nets 124-122 on Friday on Jalen Brunson's 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds remaining.
Mikal Bridges added 21 points and Josh Hart had 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Knicks, who beat their city rivals for the eighth straight time. Brunson finished with just 12 points, shooting 3 for 14, but had 10 assists.

The AP reports: P.J. Washington had 27 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks held off the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-119 on Sunday night without star guard Luka Doncic.
Washington averaged just over eight points and seven rebounds per game entering Sunday's game but stepped up in the absence of Doncic, who was out with a bruised right knee.
The Mavericks' offense purred anyway. Kyrie Irving scored 23 points and helped Dallas shoot 48% from the field.
Sengun records triple-double, VanVleet scores 28 in Rockets 143-107 rout of Bulls
The AP reports: Fred VanVleet scored a season-high 28 points, Alperen Sengun had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his second triple-double this season and the Houston Rockets routed the Chicago Bulls 143-107 on Sunday night for their fifth straight win.
Jalen Green scored 18 points as all five Houston starters reached double figures, and the Rockets topped their previous season-high in points (128). Amen Thompson played despite right quad soreness and added 16 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
The Rockets dominated in the paint at both ends and pulled in 66 rebounds to Chicago's 47.
Harden passes Allen for No. 2 spot on NBA's 3-point list, Clippers beat Jazz 116-105
The AP reports: James Harden moved into second place on the NBA's career 3-point list and had 20 points and 11 assists to help the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Utah Jazz 116-105 on Sunday night to end a three-game losing streak.
Harden moved past Ray Allen with No. 2,874 with 6:08 left in the first quarter as Los Angeles jumped out to a 35-25 lead. The only player ahead of Harden - who was 2 of 8 from 3-point range - is Golden State’s Stephen Curry at 3,782.
